A better summary, maybe?

Basically:
MC is an ordinary kid who got banished from his tribe due to his father's grief over losing his only daughter (very vague, on purpose). He knew that something wasn't right, so he spent the next 5 years wandering and staying with friendly tribes and observing. All his observations add up to: something REALLY bad is going on. He goes to the leader of a friendly tribe, who basically had taken him in after his father banished him, and together they go to the king. After convincing the king, MC visits all the tribes to call a Tribal Council. King then names MC his heir, and immediately is killed. In the aftermath trying to deal with losing his king and inheriting a country, MC discovers the friendly-tribe-leader who had taken him in, dead. Then he finds his father dazed and confused, with no memory of the past 5 years, holding a bloody knife. Now he has to decide what to do, how to lead the country, and how to stop the deception (really bad thing) from destroying his country. And eventually he will discover another country on the other side of the mountains that is going through the same thing. And at some point, the planet begins to physically split apart.

That's all I've got for now. :)

So many places...I'd love to go back to Japan, and definitely to Florida. Hawaii and California are also big on my lists. :)

Kind of a summary...Hope this works!

Okay, I'm not really sure how to summarize my book because I find out new things about it every day, but here goes attempt number one:
Basically my story takes place between two countries that share one planet, but neither has any idea the other exists. They are separated by a huge mountain range. One country is very advanced, and the other operates on a tribal/medieval level. But there is a terrible deception taking hold in the land, and it is up to the one boy that knows that both lands exist to get the kings to work together and prevent the evil.

I don't know. Doesn't sound interesting now that it's written out.

Blahhhhhh

This JulNo thing REALLY isn't working out for me. I switched ideas a week into it, did okay but then tried cross-planting the two ideas, that didn't work (so I may have to throw out a chapter), have had NO time to write, and now it's crunch time for VBS, which means for the next 2 weeks my writing will be 100 words a day IF that.

yup, and if that wasn't enough, my psycho ex-best friend has walked back into my life SIMPLY to prove that she still has power over me. *sigh* I so wish I could just give up JulNo (and all my other insane responsibilities) and go crawl under a rock...for a long time.

Yay for words!

Yesterday I began working on a brand NEW story, and got about 8,000 words written before I burnt out. Today, if I can just get 4k, I'll be up to speed...which would be really nice. What's funny is that according to my lovely little "projection" thing, based on the amount of words I wrote yesterday, I will be at 400,000 by July 31! Wouldn't it be nice if that really happened?? What I think is REALLY funny is that I pounded out those 8k words in about 5 hours for this book, whereas for the book which I started writing for JulNo, it took five days to get 8k and it was trying to drag every word out. Oh well, that book will have to stay on the shelf awhile. And this one...well, this one's gonna be good.

I have to do some adjusting from my original idea, because my FMC turned out to be a brat who can't handle her role in the story, and the MMC has no interest in her. So so much for that. I guess MMC is gonna save the world all by himself! And it's really difficult writing this book, because it is literally set in two different time periods - medieval and far future. Crazy! Oh well...I think I can pull it off, much thanks to the help of chaoticshiny.com! Best generators I have ever seen!

Well...it's almost 10 AM, and today is going to be shorter than usual because I'm teaching kids church tonight, and I have to actually LOOK OVER my lesson! So if I want that 4k, I'm gonna have to work for it, starting now!

Later!

Ahh, Plot Bunnies!

Just got my first real plot-bunny attack of JulNo. Got a great new idea for a story, and I think I'm gonna run with it. If I do a whole lot of world and plot work tonight, I think I can catch up all the writing this week (and even get ahead). Hooray for plot bunnies! :)

La La La...Writing on Vaca with Family

So this hasn't been too easy - trying to write - by hand - while stuck in a tiny car - with two relatively sympathetic sisters squished next to me - for SIX HOURS. As a result, I wrote (zero) words yesterday. WHYYYY!!!

Although, on the plus side, I did write a nearly-record-breaking 3,200 words today. Yay me!

And I figured out that while I love typing WAY more than writing by hand, and always will, I actually get (a few) more words when I write by hand, because I'm not maniacally checking the word count every two seconds...so ... yay? Tomorrow's another sixish hour drive, to leave my grandma's house and go back to my own. I really love Vermont, and word count killing or no, I had a wonderful time seeing my uncle and his new wife at their BEAUTIFUL new house last night (still sad I missed the wedding =P ), and seeing my grandmother and great-aunt today. And the time off from the stress that is my daily life at home ... (as MasterCard would say...) Priceless!! I do NOT look forward to going home, because there are now only two weeks left to plan the rest of VBS 09 (unfortunately, it should be called DBS - DOOMED Bible School!!) and our wonderful plan to get things while not paying (much) just got SHOT down by the fact that "things just aren't that easy". EVER.

Ah, well, I have to get some sleep. I'm going to church somewhere in the morning, and probably need to be up early to do so. Goodnight!

(no subject)

Today is June 30.
That means that tomorrow begins another month of writing craziness: JulNoWriMo!
Yay!!

I can't wait to get started. I'm going out tonight to get a notebook and some special pens, so I'll be all ready. I have very little idea as to characters...my world...pretty much anything, so I'm winging it! But I have a surprisingly clear direction I intend to head in, and, unlike my poor NaNo 08 novel, I know the ending of this book AND its "sequel"ish. Hopefully, it will all be one giant book by September 1st...Or it will be one good-sized book that ends with a cliffhanger, to be resolved in good-sized Book Two! Yayness...

And that's about it for now. I'm going to make dinner and then head off to claim my prizes...and go to the movies! I haven't been to the theatre since New Year's Day, so I'm excited for tonight (yay $1 theatre) and SUPER excited for tomorrow. Yay WriMos!

Well, I don't know.

I'm just trying to get started on here; don't really know anyone who has LJ. But, I joined so I could start connecting with some Christian fantasy writers. My summer sure hasn't gone according to plan; began with a month of traveling (with the best girls ever), that ended with a tragic car accident, and now I have no summer job, ergo no way to pay the bills. I've been looking everywhere. So I'm taking on JulNoWriMo and AugNoWriMo to try and get some books written, and I'll self-publish to amazon.com by the end of the summer. By doing that and appealing to all my wonderful friends and supporters, hopefully I can get enough money to go back to school in the fall.

Well, that's me! I'd love to get to know new people, but I'm really bad at the whole "put yourself out there" thing, so this summer will really be an adventure!

Till tomorrow
